Another Saturday night at the Barleymoe
This week Elijah Craig is joined by Johnny Walker, Jim Beam and Jack Daniels
Elijah: I know it is early in the season but I thought we could discuss who among the rookies are standing out. Who do you think should be the rookie of the year.
Johnny: It's too damn early for this discussion. The young guys that are hot, flame out. Guys who start slowly and build on their success will be steady at the end of the long season.
Jim: I'd like to kick out a name. I think Wilmer Arguelles is having a great season for Washington. He is hitting .338 with an .858 ops.
Jack: I like Willis Ryan. He already has 14 saves for Seattle. His ERA is 1.50 and his whip is 1.03.
Johnny: Elian Beltre has made 14 starts for Louisville with a 2.86 ERA.
Jim: A few other hitters I like are Brad Mora, Kosuke Li, and Ralph Cooke.
Johnny: Is Cooke the guy in St. Louis who is slugging .528 and hitting above .300.
Jim: Yeah he is that guy. Both Mora and Li have more homers than Cooke but they have all been good.
Elijah: Anybody want to predict who will be rookie of the year.
Jack: Elijah, it's like Johnny said it too early; but at least we know who to watch.
