Time to Vote on the Hall of Fame
I'm the guy everyone hates this time of the season. I vote but not very often for 5 guys. I believe the only reason the baseball hall of fame is that it is exclusive. The football hall of fame adds 7 people a year regardless of the talent pool. So I tend to be very picky with voting.
I did a quick check of the players inducted in our Hall of Fame and thought I'd post the little that I took notes on. We have no shortstops in the Hall of Fame and only one centerfielder. This is probably that as players get older they transition out of key defensive positions into corner positions or the DH.
The worst hitter by average is Edgardo Jacquez .260. He did hit 602 homers, with a .578 slugging average. There are so many things to judge hitters by I thought I would leave it at Jacquez.
Among the pitchers the people creating the floor achievement were:
Fewest Wins for a starter was 159 by Bosco Martin. He had an ERA of 3.13.
Fewest saves for a reliever was 527 by Terry Schulte. He had an ERA of 2.91
Worst ERA was3.85 by Rigo Delgado. He had 312 wins.
Anyway happy voting!!
